Fifteen kilometers from Mengwi is the famous Monkey Forest and the ancient Pura Bukit Sari Temple, surrounded by tall nutmeg trees. But the area is ruled by monkeys and they will try to snatch anything : spectacles, jewelry, watches and handbags. Go late in the day, after the tourist rush, so you can appreciate the serenity of the place.
